2. Universal Studios

Location: Orlando

Neighboring Disney World in Orlando, Universal Studios is another must see theme park. Split between Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay, there are many rides that both the kids and adults will love.

There is also the famous Harry Potter world, complete with Diagon Alley and the Hogwarts Castle.

3. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

6. Gatorland

Among those gators, they even have four of the world’s largest white alligators, weighing in at over 800 pounds.

These gators are said to provide you with good luck if you’re able to make eye contact with their piercing blue eyes, so make sure to get a good look at them.

7. The Wheel at ICON Park

Location: Orlando

Originally opening under the name Orlando Eye (after the London Eye), the Wheel at ICON park is a must see. From the top of the 400-foot wheel, you can see Disney World, Universal, and all the great wildlife preserves that Orlando has on offer.

The ride on the wheel takes about 20 minutes, but ICON Park has a lot more in store, including Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the Orlando Starflyer, the Sea Life Aquarium, and the Museum of Illusions.

9. The Former Versace Mansion

The Villa Casa Casuarina is located in the former Versace Mansion, where esteemed fashion designer Gianni Versace was murdered.

26. Kennedy Space Center

Location: Brevard County

If you’re interested in NASA, this visitors center at the Kennedy Space Center is worth a visit. You can visit the astronaut hall of fame, learn to be an astronaut in the simulation center, and watch some movies in their IMAX theater.

Coming in at $57 per adult and $47 per child, it is a bit more expensive than the typical museum, but definitely worth the cost.

27. The Dalí

Location: St. Petersburg

If you’re a fan of the melted clocks made famous by none other than Salvador Dalí, you’ll want to make sure you visit The Dalí when you’re in St. Petersburg.

This museum is entirely dedicated to the world renowned artist. Starting January 29, there will be a special exhibition dedicated to Pablo Picasso with 79 paintings, drawings, and collages.

The Museum of Discovery and Science is the largest museum in Florida and one of the most visited museums in the state.

Home to one of the largest wetlands in the world, the Everglades National Park is one of the most unique experiences in the whole country.

35. Devil’s Den

Location: Williston

Devil’s Den Spring is an experience like no other. Located in a dry cave, Devil’s Den has been home to fossils dating back to the Pleistocene Age, but is now transformed into a great place to snorkel or scuba dive.

The maximum depth is 54 feet and the water stays at a warm 72 degrees Fahrenheit all year long. You must be 18 or older or have an adult with you to complete the waiver to enter the spring.

36. Bok Tower Gardens

Location: Lake Wales

The gardens at Bok Tower are located on Iron Mountain and boast opportunities for artistic, cultural, personal, and spiritual enrichment.

37. Dry Tortugas National Park

With over 20,000 live butterflies, Butterfly World is the largest of its kind in the entire world. There are also hundreds of exotic birds located in 6 free-flight aviaries throughout the property. The park is mostly outdoors, so be sure to dress accordingly.

39. Coral Castle in South Florida

If you’re wondering what to do in Florida that’s a little slower paced, then Coral Castle is a lovely way to spend a few hours. Edward Leedskalnin built this stone sculpture garden from 1923 to 1951. It took over 1100 tons of coral rock, and to this day, no one quite knows how he did it.

Location: Loxahatchee

The USA Travel Guide named the Lion Country Safari the third best zoo in the nation in 2009. On over 600 acres, this drive through safari lets you get up close and personal with some incredible wildlife.
