A fantastic jazz and blues bar! Here, they always have live music. The musicians that play here are truly outstanding, some of the best without a doubt.
Dancing is encouraged inside, and there is great seating outside as well. Part of Ruby’s draw is that it is also a cigar lounge, so smoking is, of course, permitted. A smoking establishment is hard to come by in this area, so if that’s what you are looking for then this is your spot.
They offer beer, wine, and spirits aplenty. This is definitely a place you would consider being a regular at. Unfortunately, they do not offer food, but there are plenty of good eats right next door. This is a fantastic little hotel beach bar located inside of the Bellwether Beach Resort on St.Pete Beach. Don’t worry you do not need to be a guest to enjoy this cute spot.
But, you will surely feel like you are! I mean what is better than a blended cocktail with your feet in the sand? Not much, that’s what! Bongos is a great spot for just that.
Kick off your sandals and grab a table and order up. Not only does this beach bar have great drinks, they also have a rock star menu. Smoked fish spread, Ahi tuna wontons, fish tacos, wraps, nachos, burgers, salads,sandwiches, the list goes on.
If you are after some entertainment, they have that too. Live music is played right on the deck! This really is the perfect little hangout spot, and since it is family friendly everyone can enjoy it!
12. Copper Shaker
This is a great little cocktail bar with an outstanding drink selection. It is a bit on the pricey side, but for the quality they offer, I would say it is a win! They have liquor you simply will not find in another bar around the St.Petersburg area.
They also have a pretty great food menu. Small plates, with big flavor! Hot pastrami dip, octopus bruschetta, fish and chips, plus more.
If you are really hungry, they do have a “big ass steak” for $65. This is a three pound Tomahawk steak served with roasted potatoes and delicious street corn!
If you still have room, you can also order dessert. Events are located on their website, and most require an RSVP, so be sure to check those out. This is the perfect upscale date spot! Not in the area? They have a 2nd location in Ybor City.
13. Dirty Laundry
This is one of the most unique bars in St.Petersburg by far! This place is a two for one deal. You can enjoy coffee and some small food fare at the “laundromat” or pick up the payphone located inside to receive a special code.
Punch in that code, and enter through one of the fake washing machines. Once on the other side, get ready for a great time! This bar has a very unique Miami vibe to it. A bit on the small side, but you really don’t even notice.
They have live music, great drinks, and on Sundays, a fantastic brunch! The brunch does operate a bit differently, so arrive early and get your name on the list. This is definitely an experience you will want to remember, so take lots of pictures! You may need them to help you figure out what happened last night!
14. The Saint
This is without a doubt one of the coolest places in St.Petersburg. This local speakeasy is not just a bar, it’s an experience! Before going you will need to check the website for the “sin of the day” you will need this to enter.
Keep in mind the dress code is upscale casual. Once you arrive, ring the doorbell and confess your “sin” to the father to gain entry.The red lighting and decor creates a certain ambiance you just can’t get anywhere else!
You will definitely want to have plenty of space in your camera roll for pictures,however, please refrain from using the flash (don’t be that guy).

LALA is a locally owned and operated karaoke bar. With two bars this place is perfect for everyone. You can choose to dine and drink at the upstairs, outside bar, or choose to drink downstairs.
They do have a happy hour that runs from 4:00pm through 6:00pm. During this time you can enjoy $5 wines, wells and $2 off craft cocktails. Appetizers are also available. If you are into seafood, check out the “seacuterie” board. Lobster, smoked salmon, fish spread, and tuna sashimi, it is absolutely delicious!

This beach bar is located next to several other bars as well, so it is perfect for a day of bar hopping with your friends or family.
Parking can be a bit tricky, so make sure you wear comfortable shoes, as you may need to walk a bit to get there. Once you are there, you will not want to leave! This is truly a little gem. Locally owned and operated the Toasted Monkey is located on the grounds of the Howard Johnson Resort Hotel. They offer a full liquor bar as well as a full menu.
Burgers, salads, wraps, seafood, you name it they have it. Cooked to perfection! Here you can dine inside or outside on the patio. Also available for your viewing pleasure is 28 state of the art flat screen TVs showing any and all types of sports!
