The Florida Keys is a great vacation spot for everyone. The beaches offer infinite opportunities to swim, scuba dive, fish, and more. On land, there’s only plenty of fun stuff to do – like eat – one of our favorite past times. It’s really no surprise the Beach Boys loved it here.

The Florida Keys offer mostly a more casual dining experience so there not too much fine dining in Key largo but that doesn’t mean the restaurants aren’t great.

Located at 99000 Overseas Hwy, the restaurant is a favorite for vacationers, offering up some of the best food in Key Largo. Some of the big drawcards of this restaurant include the all-day service and hibachi bar.

Don’t miss the Keysbite Skillet for breakfast in Key Largo which includes Ham, Bacon, Sausage, Green Peppers, Tomatoes, Onions, Mushrooms, Spinach, Jalapeños or Sausage Gravy. Topped with American cheese and two eggs cooked to your liking, and toast. For $10.99 this presents excellent value in the Keys and is, therefore, a great restaurant to visit if you are traveling with kids and want a low-cost meal option.

There are also really great and affordable dinner options available like the Chicken Francaise (a Lightly battered chicken with white wine, butter and fresh lemon juice) which will set you back only $14.99.

As the Florida Keys is notoriously an expensive place to travel, Florida Keys Bite is a great place to go for an affordable but still quality meal in Key Largo.

2. Fish House

Featured on “Everyday with Rachel Ray,” “Good Morning America,” and “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives,” among other publications and shows, The Fish House is a well-loved staple of the Key Largo area.

This place does a really mean sandwich so if you are a fan of a delicious sandwich we highly suggest you try Fish House. We would recommend the Mahi Mahi Sandwich Broiled & dusted with paprika, Grilled, Blackened, Fried or Jamaican jerk style. A sandwich at Fish House will set you back $15-$20.

Seafood is the big drawcard for dinner here which can be expected with a name like “Fish House”. If you are into blue cheese, you gotta come for dinner. Highly recommend the black and bleu topped with blue cheese crumbles and baked, then topped with a cream sauce of bleu cheese, garlic, blackening seasoning and white wine.

The Fish House has won three awards from People’s Choice Upper Keys, and Florida Living Magazine for the best key lime pie in Florida. Pop in at 102401 Overseas  Hwy between 11:30 am-10 pm to try it yourself!

3. Hobo’s Cafe

Named by National Geographic as “one of the most authentic Keys eateries.”, Hobo’s Cafe has been loyally serving patrons since 1991 at 101691 Overseas Hwy.

This is another great place to enjoy Key Lime pie in Key Largo if you are looking for a good spot. If you haven’t already, we would recommend trying the Conch (pronounced Konk) fritters at this restaurant as they are really delish.

The restaurant also has t-shirts and hats for those who want a souvenir from the classic seafood shack. Check out Hobo’s Cafe for good, fresh food and warm service.

4. Num Thai and Sushi

For those who have had their fill of clams and shrimp, Num Thai offers delicious thai food including fried wontons, Thai red curry, and a spicy beef salad. You can customize their lunch entrees with chicken, beef, pork, or veggies.

Another one of the best restaurants in Key Largo is Doc’s Diner, a favorite among locals. The restaurant placed first and second in various categories in the Upper Keys People’s Choice Awards, including Best Down Home Cooking.

The friendly staff serves the breakfast special of the day all day, and they even have a breakfast feast for five on their menu. Weekly lunch specials include Italian Tuesday and a variety of meat-veggie-potato combinations.

This is the place to get New York-style pizza in Florida! Located on Overseas Highway and also served at Jimmy Johnson’s Big Chill!, Enrico’s Pizza is a local favorite.

The family-owned business began in New York in the 1960s, and the legacy of authenticity carries on. Pizzas and calzones can be customized, or guests can choose from unique options like arugula, three-cheese without sauce, or eggplant pizza. Established in 1950, Pilot House has been a lighthouse to the city.

With live music three nights a week and visiting manatees on occasion, the long-standing hangout very popular with locals and tourists alike.The marina offers storage and fuel for the boats, while the restaurant and waterfront bar offer fuel for the sailors.

This is the place to get a good burger in Key Largo. Many of their burgers and sandwiches, such as the Nancy Pants or pulled pork, have made local and national award lists such as USA Today, Travel+Leisure, and Good Morning America.
